Shepherds of Old St. Mary’s

Rev. Lawrence Juarez, 1950-
Parochial Vicar, 2002-

Father Lawrence Juarez was born on August 10, 1950, in Barotac Nuevo, Jaro, Iloilo, Philippines. He was ordained a priest on March 18, 1975, in Jaro and served as a parish priest for the Diocese of Jaro from 1975 until 1983. From 1983 until 1996 he served in the Diocese of Manila.
Father Lawrence heard about the teachings and way of life of Father Al through the publication One Bread, One Body, and became interested in the Fathers and Brothers of Pentecost. In November 2001, Father Lawrence arrived from the Philippines to study, work and pray with Father Lauer and the Fathers and Brothers of Pentecost. He remained through March 2002 and then returned to the Philippines to prepare for an extended syay at Old St. Mary's. In September 2002, he returned to Cincinnati and has been helping with Masses and duties about the parish. In June, 2003, Father Lawrence was named Parochial Vicar and has been the primary liturgist ever since.
