Celebrated Mass in German, 2001-2004

Rev. Lawrence R. Robotnik, 82, of Erlanger, KY, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Ft. Thomas. Fr. Robotnik was ordained on June 1, 1957. During his life, he served at various parishes as assistant pastor, as well as pastor of The Church of the Annunciation, Paris, St. Vincent de Paul, Newport, St. Rose of Lima, Mays Lick, St. Patrick Church, Maysville, and Sacred Heart (now Divine Mercy), Bellevue. Fr. Robotnik also taught at Covington Catholic High School, Covington Latin School, St. Patrick High School, and was Vicar for Religious and Dean of the Southeast Deanery; he was also devoted to the German Mass at Old St. Mary, Cincinnati. After retiring in 2001, he served as chaplain to the Passionist Nuns Monastery in Erlanger. Fr. Robotnik was the second youngest of 11 children. Survivors include his sister, Esther Solorz of Holdingford, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation was be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington. A vigil service followed the visitation and began at 8:00 pm. A second visitation was held on Friday March 7, 2014, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Cathedral, with the Mass of Christian Burial immediately following the visitation and began at 11:00 am. Interment was in St. Mary Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell.
